Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns suffered a close Week 2 loss. Kade Kimble takes a look at the odds and which team might bounce back in this AFC North battle to kick off Week 3 on Thursday Night Football.
ANALYSIS

Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction, Pick, Odds: Which Team Will Bounce Back Off a Loss?

In Week 1, the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a close loss to the New England Patriots, losing 17-14. They were unable to come back, as they won 8-0 in the final quarter in an attempt to come back.

Instead of coming back, the Cleveland Browns gave up a massive lead to the New York Jets in their Week 2 matchup. The Browns had a big lead when the 2-minute warning hit, yet they collapsed and let the Jets come back very quickly.

Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction

The Pittsburgh Steelers could’ve taken their home opener had their offense found any sort of traction, instead, they lost 17-14 to the New England Patriots. Had they found success in any aspect of offense, the game could have been entirely different, and the Steelers may have found themselves winning early in the game.

The Cleveland Brown’s situation may be quite a bit worse, as they were beating the New York Jets by quite a bit. They held a two-score lead in the fourth quarter, but in the final two minutes, they found a way to lose after suffering a hard collapse.

Both teams, now face a quick turnaround after a frustrating loss, and both teams would like a big win here. The Pittsburgh Steelers, though, have won four of the last five games. Both teams have also had a QB change since last season.

The AFC North matchup comes with potential future standings implications, and the Browns come in as 5.5-point favorites to win the matchup. The Browns lost their last game to a great offensive performance by Joe Flacco and the Jets, while the Steelers have had to rely on their stifling defense, while their offense hasn’t found any sort of rhythm.

Najee Harris, one of the best backs in the league, has just 72 yards on 25 carries for the season. Under center, Mitch Trubisky has thrown for 362 yards on 42-71 passing on the season.

For the Browns, Jacoby Brissett has passed for 376 yards on 40-61 passing. Both quarterbacks in this matchup have thrown for two touchdowns and one interception. Through the two games, Nick Chubb has been phenomenal, rushing for 228 yards and three touchdowns on 39 carries.

The Steelers solid defense has given up an average of 128.5 rushing yards through their two matchups, and their next opportunity to bring that number down unfortunately comes against Chubb.

This game seems as if it’s going to ride on whether the Steelers defense can avoid letting the Browns run all over them. Nick Chubb alone brings the possibility that the Steelers defense gets loose.

The Browns have not been exceptional on defense, allowing an average of 27.5 points in their first two games. For the Steelers, the Thursday Night Football matchup will serve as a good opportunity to find some rhythm for their offense. The Browns are 25th in passing yards allowed, and the Steelers receivers may have a breakout game against them. With Chase Claypool and George Pickens, Trubisky may have an opportunity to put together a solid game against the Browns.
