Coming into Week 3, both the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals are 1-1, and looking to get their record above .500. Kade Kimble analyzes the Week 3 matchup and odds.
ANALYSIS

Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can the Cardinals Carry Their Momentum?

The Arizona Cardinals may have had the most exciting game in Week Two, as they completed their comeback in stylish fashion against the Raiders in overtime.

For the Los Angeles Rams, they found their way past the Atlanta Falcons, winning 31-27, and they seem to be still looking to find their stride.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction

The Cardinals' turnaround from Week 1 to Week 2 didn’t seem too convincing, but that was in the first half. In the second half, the Cardinals began their comeback, winning the third quarter 7-3. For the fourth quarter, the Cardinals beat the Las Vegas raiders 16-0, which led the game into overtime. The Cardinals were unable to convert on their first offensive attempt but chewed enough time that the Raiders had to have a little bit of urgency. The Raiders fumbled once but recovered it. Shortly after, they did it again, but this time the Cardinals were able to take the fumble to the house and win the game.

Safe to say, the Cardinals have taken some momentum after a stale first half and Week One loss. Now they head into a matchup against the Rams, who haven’t seemed to figure this season out quite yet.

The former Super Bowl champions just scraped by the Atlanta Falcons after losing the first game to the Buffalo Bills. This time around, the Rams got up big early, leading 28-3 (a score the Falcons may be familiar with). The Falcons began climbing back and didn’t give up. The Rams gave up 17 fourth-quarter points to one of the worst teams from last season and scored just three points.

Given the ending of both the games, the Cardinals seem to have the momentum heading into the Week 3 matchup. The Rams, though, still come into the matchup as 3.5-point favorites.

The QB matchup seems to be leaning in the favor of Kyler Murray as of now, who’s thrown for 470 yards on 53-83 passing through the first two games. He’s scored three passing touchdowns and thrown just one interception. Matthew Stafford, on the other hand, has thrown for 512 yards on 56-77 passing, adding four touchdowns and five interceptions.

The five interceptions from Stafford just adds to the weirdness and funk that the Rams have had in their first two games this season. Their matchup against the Cardinals and their secondary should act as a good opportunity for the Rams offense to turn things around, though.

Working in the Cardinals' favor is playing against the spread, as they’ve won six of their last seven games straight up as underdogs. Also, the Rams may have some trouble with Murray, who’s more skilled than Mariots, who almost led a comeback against the Rams in Week Two.

Simply because the Rams are in a funk, and the Cardinals stealing momentum in the second half of their last matchup leads me to believe the Cardinals can at least keep this game close, if not steal the game outright as underdogs.
