Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Green Bay Packers Prediction: Can Tom Brady, Buccaneers Stay Undefeated?

America's game of the week features two of the best teams in the NFC as the Packers travel to Tampa to take on the Buccaneers. Tom Brady has gotten off to a nice 2-0 start while Aaron Rodgers overcame a week one hiccup with a dominant win over the Bears. In a matchup of elite quarterbacks, it is Tom Brady who is slightly favored by a point. Can he stay undefeated and move to 3-0?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Green Bay Packers Prediction

I am backing the Buccaneers here. The Packer's already thin receiving room is now banged up, as Randall Cobb is questionable and Sammy Watkins has been moved to the IR. The Packers are also dealing with some injuries to their offensive line, including tackle David Bakhtiari. In week one, we saw Rodgers frustrated with his young receivers as they dropped some wide-open passes. It improved slightly in week two, but they also faced a team they have dominated for the last decade. That will not be the case against the Buccaneers, especially on the road.

The Bucs are also dealing with injuries on offense, but Brady has proved he doesn't need elite receivers to win. He was still able to move the ball well and score against a solid Saints defense last week, and the Packer's defense is not as good as the Saints, even when fully healthy. Brady still has some reliable options in Julio Jones, Cole Beasley, and Scottie Miller.

Another element in this game is Brady's success against Rodgers. Brady is 3-1 head-to-head against Rodgers and is 2-0 against him since joining the Bucs. He has covered by an average of 11.5 points in those four games and 19 points in the two games with the Bucs.

The Bucs have an elite passing defense that can frustrate the young, banged-up receiver room for the Packers. The Packer's rushing defense has been horrible through the first two weeks, and even though Fournette is playing through an injury, he should be able to gash the front line. The Packers have yet to beat a good team, and until they look like contenders, I'm not sold with the offense yet. In a game that is essentially a pick 'em, I'm backing the best quarterback ever at home.
