Not often do you see the Rams as underdogs these days but they are facing an elite 49ers defense in a very tough environment. Can Stafford get the job done? Let’s break it down.

Monday Night Football 49ers vs. Rams Prediction: Can Matthew Stafford Get A Win On the Road?

The Rams come into this game with a 2-1 record and their only loss is to the Buffalo Bills who many consider being the best team in the NFL. The Rams have really had trouble finishing games so far this season as they blew the game in the second half against the Bills, nearly let the Falcons make a historic comeback, and nearly let the Cardinals come back in the second half as well.

49ers vs. Rams Prediction

The Rams have had issues with turnovers this season as Matthew Stafford has been a bit careless with the ball, but I fully anticipate those issues to be resolved tonight.

The 49ers have a great defense but the matchup that I think will be the key factor in tonight’s game is Jimmy G and the 49ers offense against the Rams defense. Jimmy G has struggled mightily and looked extremely inept last week against Denver where he stepped out of the end zone for a safety and would have thrown a pick 6 if not for that misstep. The Rams have a great run defense and I think they will be able to bottle up Jeff Wilson Jr and they’ll have Jalen Ramsey keying on Deebo Samuel, but I do not trust Jimmy G to make enough plays with his arm in this game.

Aaron Donald should be able to get pressure on him all night and I think the pressure from the Rams defense will force Jimmy G into multiple mistakes tonight. Another key aspect I want to highlight with this game is the line dynamic.

Short home favorites (-2 or less) have not fared too well to this point. We saw the Bucs last night as short home favorites get blown out by the Chiefs and we also saw the Arizona Cardinals go on the road yesterday and win with an impressive second-half performance as short road dogs as well (Like the Rams are tonight). We have even more examples of this from last week as the Seahawks (-1 home vs ATL), Buccaneers (-1.5 home vs GB), and Giants (-1 home Vs Dallas) all lost the game straight up and the Seahawks were the only team of those 3 to cover the 1H as well. This is now a strong line trend that has been forming and the only short home favorite that has covered on a line of -2 OR LESS without the line reaching -2.5/3 on the entire season were the Vikings in week 1 against Green Bay.

I think San Francisco may cover in the 1H but we are getting very solid value on the Rams here simply because they are on the road and considering the low total, this may be a very close low scoring game where every point matters similar to the back and forth/low scoring game we saw between the Niners and Broncos last week. With that being said, I am rolling with the RAMS at +2 -110 for 1U as my Most confident NFL Play of the Day as I think Stafford and the Rams break this trend of struggling against San Francisco and break through with a big-time win tonight.

I am also going to play a Same Game Parlay at -120 in this game for 1U (4-Legs)

Rams +2 -110 (Bet $110 to win $100)
