The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons are both 2-2 heading into Week Five. Kade Kimble takes a look at who might break even in the matchup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Tom Brady, Buccaneers Get Back on Track?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now lost two games in a row, both to good teams in the Packers and Chiefs. So far this season, their offense hasn’t looked spectacular, but it’s been good enough to help the defense win two games.

The Falcons, who’ve played less competition thus far, have won two games in a row and are also 2-2 on the season. They’ve played solid every game though, losing to the Saints by one point and the Rams by four points.

This game, on paper, looks like it should go to the Bucs in a landslide victory, but because the Falcons have played each game close and the Buccaneers have had a rough last two games, who knows about this one?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons Prediction

As mentioned, the Buccaneers have lost two in a row, but those two losses were to Super Bowl contenders that could play with any team in the league. And for the Falcons' two wins in a row, they’ve played the Browns who are without their starting quarterback, and the Seahawks who got rid of two of their best players this offseason.

The Buccaneers' loss to the Chiefs was unfortunate, as they didn’t let Mahomes beat them, rather than the run game. Mahomes played well, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire had a great game against the Bucs run defense. If they’re not careful, the Falcons will be able to hang around primarily through their run game.

Cordarrelle Patterson has had a great season on the ground so far with 340 yards and three touchdowns on 58 attempts this season. He could be the biggest impact player this game, and will likely be the Falcons' last hope at a chance to win the game.

Kyle Pitts hasn’t been incredible this season, and that’s largely due to his involvement in the game plan and having Marcus Mariota, who also hasn’t been great this season, under center. It’s safe to say that the Falcons' offense won’t be lighting up the Bucs' defense in this game, and their best chances are to pound the rock and try and grind out yards on the ground. The Bucs' defense has held their opponents to 17 points per game, and that’s likely where the Falcons will score, as it’ll be tough for them to score at least three touchdowns on the Bucs' defense with their offense.

Tom Brady hasn’t been great this season either, but he’s been much better than a lot of quarterbacks. He’s found the end zone just six times but has only thrown one interception. This will be a good game for him to be able to throw for a few touchdowns to get into a rhythm. The same goes for Leonard Fournette, who’s also been slightly underwhelming this season. Both of them will have a chance to play to their potential against the Falcons' defense that lets up 25.3 points per game.

There’s always potential that the Bucs' defense allows a good game, but if they play as well as they can, they could easily hold the Falcons to a low-scoring game. The offense should be good enough to score enough points to cover the 8.5-point spread. Tom Brady should be Brady and find his rhythm with a potentially big game and a win that covers.
