Best Week 5 Anytime TD Bets
Chris Godwin (+150) (Bet $100 to win $140) - *BANKER* - 2 Units
While the entire world is concerned with Tom Brady and his marriage all I know is he will be a man on a mission this week and the rest of the season. Brady has the perfect matchup to change the news headlines as he has thrown at least four touchdowns in three of the last four games against the Falcons! Godwin received 10 targets in last week's loss to the Chiefs and ran 45 routes! He's back to full strength it appears. In his last four games against Atlanta, he has scored in three of them! The Falcons are solid on the perimeter but are awful at defending the slot, ranking bottom three in the NFL in receptions and yards to slot receivers through the first four weeks. The Falcons rank dead last in pressure rate and Brady releases the ball faster than any quarterback in the NFL. Godwin has a targets-per-route run of 25.1% when Brady isn’t pressured compared to 11.3% when he is. Atlanta has allowed 16 red zone drives this season, tied for the fourth-most in the NFL. Godwin is Brady's favorite target and Tampa ranks fifth in the NFL in pass rate. I'm firing up Godwin to find pay dirt in Week 5 as a Banker!
Bills Defense/Special Teams (+700) (Bet $100 to win $700)
Sorry Kenny Pickett but welcome to the NFL! Pickett threw three interceptions after coming into the game for the Steelers last week in his debut. Now in his first NFL start, he gets the Buffalo Bills defense that has seven interceptions and one of them went to the house already in 2022. The Bills secondary still isn't at full strength but the Bills mafia will be fired up and getting after Pickett this week. The Bills create quarterback pressure at the fourth-highest rate in the NFL led by that guy named Von Miller. Pickett isn't a great name for a quarterback I must add. It's worth a shot here at these odds on the rookie to make a few mistakes and the Super Bowl favorites to take advantage.
Gabe Davis (+140) (Bet $100 to win $140)
This is it. This is the last time we're trusting Gabe Davis with our money. I'm writing his name as Gabe here instead of Gabriel to hopefully change our luck this week. It's no secret the Bills are massive favorites this week against the Steelers. Buffalo ranks first in the NFL in pass rate and there's a good chance this game gets out of hand early. I have a feeling Josh Allen makes an MVP statement here. Pittsburgh has been terrible at defending the perimeter wide receivers. Davis runs 91% of his routes from the perimeter which is the most of any Bills player. He's played 97% of the snaps for the Bills so it's only a matter of time before he gets rolling. Davis hasn't scored since Week 1 but that is changing this Sunday.
Terry McLaurin (+220) (Bet $100 to win $220)
The matchup won't get any better for Washington and McLaurin than it does in Week 5. He also hasn't found the endzone since Week 1 and that's due to the pressure Wentz has been under lately. McLaurin has been out-targeted by Curtis Samuel but the titans are surprisingly solid defending the slot. The Titans are a bottom-three defense in every category defending wide receivers. McLaurin projects to line up against Terrance Mitchell the most this week and he is by far the Titans worst cornerback. Michael Pittman missed scoring twice last Sunday against Tennessee by a few toes and then a heel. I'm expecting Wentz to have a bounce-back game here against the Titans who allow passing touchdowns at the second-highest rate in the NFL and it starts by going to his top receiver on the outside this Sunday!
Travis Etienne (+220) (Bet $100 to win $220)
While James Robinson returning from a torn Achilles and performing the way he has is a great story, I'm an Etienne truther. Robinson has dominated the touches in the red zone for the Jaguars with a massive 68% of touches, Etienne has been the more efficient runner. Etienne has gained more than 3 yards on 58% of his carries meanwhile Robinson has on just 42% which is the fewest in the NFL! Houston is allowing 5 yards per carry to running backs and has allowed the second-most scores to the position trailing only the Lions. Houston is also bottom ten in the NFL in targets, receptions, and yards to running backs. The game flow last week against the Eagles explains why he saw more action than Robinson and the Jaguars are nearly touchdown favorites here in Week 5. While you need to lay the juice on Robinson at every sportsbook this week I can easily see both he and Etienne finding pay dirt here in a big win for Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars that have an implied team total of over 25 points!
Rhamondre Stevenson (+160) (Bet $100 to win $160)
This is a simple matchup play for me. The Lions defense appears to be atrocious once again at stopping running backs. They have allowed at least 120 rushing yards and multiple scores to running backs in three of four games so far! They have allowed a league-high, 8 rushing touchdowns to running backs! New England will be without Mac Jones so in an already run first offense will become even more focused on running the ball. While this is a split backfield with Damien Harris, Stevenson has appeared to take over as he leads in snaps 71 to Harris' 50 over the last two weeks. The price here is great at Bet365 as BetMGM has Stevenson all the way down to -120! The Lions defense will be one we continue to pick on all season long!
Kareem Hunt (+185) (Bet $100 to win $185)
We're going back to the well with another guy here in Week 5! Hunt is set up for success this week against a Chargers defense that is allowing the most yards per carry (6.1) and the fourth most receptions to running backs through the first four weeks. His teammate Nick Chubb is -160 at some shops and rightfully so. Hunt is tied with Chubb for the second most red zone opportunities in the NFL with 16. He has just had bad luck in the touchdown department. This is projected to be one of the highest-scoring matchups on Sunday afternoon and I expect Hunt to contribute to the scoreboard for us!
Adam Trautman (+1000) (Bet $100 to win $1000)
Did you see what TJ Hockenson just did to this Seattle secondary? While Adam Trautman isn't the same caliber player as Hock, he has the same matchup! The Seahawks are fourth in the NFL in aDOT allowed to tight ends through the first four weeks and have allowed the most yards to the position. Trautman out-snapped Johnson 39 to 29 last week. Alvin Kamara will be extremely busy but there is no value to be had there. So, even with Andy Dalton once again expected to start I'll opt for the tight end on the field more with the longer odds in the juicy matchup.
