Patriots vs. Lions Prediction
The Patriots are a team who are accustomed to success but now they have fallen on some hard times. They come into this game with a record of 1-3 and both Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer are injured which leaves them with their 3rd string quarterback Bailey Zappe. Who is this guy? Well, Zappe played at FCS Houston Baptist and broke all sorts of records there before transferring to Western Kentucky to play his final season. In his only year in Division 1 football, he broke Joe Burrow’s single-season passing record so this kid can really sling it. Now college success does not always translate over to the NFL but Zappe has a perfect matchup here and a perfect environment to make his first career NFL start.
The Lions have arguably the worst defense in the NFL and just can't stop anyone. They gave up 48 points to the Seahawks last week and did not force a single punt. Now, do I expect Zappe to put up 48? No, but he should be able to move the ball up and down the field behind their strong running game and strong offensive line play. With that being said, I am rolling with PATRIOTS ML at -155 (RISK 2U) as I think this is a great spot for the Pats today. This could be a fairly close game so I am rolling with the ML but I like -3 as well.
Patriots vs. Lions Pick
- Patriots ML (-155) (RISK 2U) (Bet $155 to win $100)
