The Commanders have been one of the worst teams in the NFL to this point and I do not think anyone is particularly surprised. They do not have many offensive weapons and their quarterback is now Carson Wentz who has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent play ever since he went down with a knee injury in the middle of his MVP season with the Eagles.

The Commanders come into this game with a record of 1-4 but they have played a very tough schedule to this point. Their losses have come against the Eagles (5-0), Cowboys (4-1), Titans (3-2), and Lions (1-4). Now their loss against the Lions was a very favorable situational spot for the Lions.

The Commanders were coming off a win and cover against the Jags, so they were riding high at 1-0, while the Lions were coming off a loss to the Eagles. It had been nearly a full season since the Lions were favored in a game but rest assured the Lions were favored against Washington in that contest despite their historical struggle and despite the worse record.

Sure enough, the line told the story and Detroit went on to beat Washington by a score of 36-27. I believe the line in this game tonight between the Bears and Commanders is telling another story as well. Washington is 1-4 and Chicago is not much better at 2-3 but the Bears have notched wins over the 49ers and Texans. The Bears have also been in many other close games as they lost to the Giants by 8 and had the Vikings on the ropes last week and actually had a lead late in the 4th quarter.

Now the Bears travel back home to Soldier field where they are 2-0 and yet are 1-point underdogs against the lowly Commanders? To me, this is a huge line indicator to back Washington tonight. The Commanders are on the road with a worse record and are on a 4-game losing streak and are ROAD FAVORITES over a team who is undefeated at home?

The line is paining a fairly clear picture here of what the books and I believe to happen which is a strong performance from Washington. Another thing I like about this matchup is Wentz vs this lackluster Bears pass rush. The Bears are currently dead last in the NFL in pressuring the QB and Wentz has really excelled when he has had time to throw.
