We're at DraftKings for this one since they've got a good price on this. Over at FanDuel, we can grab over 54.5 (+128) which is nice but +132 is better in my opinion (counting). If you don't want to play a juiced-up line, then you could always do the over 51.5 but why? It's late in the season and we aren't going to get many more opportunities to get jacked up in football. I think we should take advantage of every opportunity. Feels right.
The Detroit Lions are the story of the NFL this season. They started slow but now they've found their way and they are embarrassing people. At this point, it's probably smart to go ahead and take them to go to the playoffs. DraftKings is offering +700 right now and it seems like the smart move. Go look at their upcoming schedule. It looks pretty easy to me. This could be the toughest game they have left people.
But this article isn't about the Lions making the playoffs. It's about Jared Goff and the Lions, and the Vikings scoring at least 55 points today. That feels easy. For starters, over the last three games, only one team in the NFL is averaging more points (Dallas Cowboys). We're talking 32 per game here people. That's huge. Now they're getting a team in Minnesota who is third worst in the entire NFL in opponent scoring over the last three games. That feels like a good team to be going against for the Lions.
The thing about totals is, it's not just about points per game. Obviously, we want points but we want the environment that creates scoring (that's so deep). Scoring begets more scoring (more deep thoughts). This game has the over vibe given the Lions' offense vs Vikings' defense but it goes the other way around too in the sense that Kirk Cousins and Minnesota should score all over the Lions' defense. All we need is one of these teams to jump out to a lead and the other will chase. We could end up looking at a game where both teams get into the 30s. Feels good.
