ANALYSIS

Eagles vs. 49ers Best Bets: Don't Miss These Jalen Hurts Player Props for NFC Championship Game

Just five years ago, the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history. During that legendary run, they got unbelievable play from backup QB Nick Foles that allowed them to lift the Lombardi Trophy.

On Sunday, the Eagles return to the NFC Championship for the first time since that legendary run and if they plan on going back to the Super Bowl, they're going to once again need a big showing from their quarterback. This time around, all eyes are on Jalen Hurts.

Hurts has been fantastic this season. Before injuring his shoulder against the Bears in Week 13, he was the frontrunner to win NFL MVP. He kills teams with his feet and his throwing arm and is as dynamic of a playmaker as there is in the NFL.

So, with the NFC Championship just around the corner, it's time to take a look at our favorite Jalen Hurts player props for Sunday against the 49ers, when he takes the field with a trip to Super Bowl LVI on the line.

Eagles vs. 49ers Best Bets - Jalen Hurts Player Props

Jalen Hurts Over 247.5 Passing Yards (-114) (Bet $114 to collect $214) Get the best odds for this one at FanDuel

Most places actually have Hurts' passing prop number at 250.5, but at FanDuel we can get it down to 247.5 and still only pay the -114 juice.

Here is the thing, if the Eagles are going to win this game they are going to have to pass the ball effectively. The 49ers are the best defense in the NFL and more importantly, they're the best run defense in the league. BUT, if there is one place they are susceptible to getting beat it's through the air.

The San Francisco 49ers allowed 222.3 passing yards per game this season, 19th in the NFL, and that was against a schedule that saw very little talent at the QB position.

The 49ers played against four quarterbacks that I would qualify as "good" this season. Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert. Brady, Mahomes and Tagovailoa all went over 250 yards passing.

The Eagles are going to have to throw the ball to move it up and down the field and I think Jalen Hurts hits this number with relative ease on Sunday.

Jalen Hurts Interception NO (-136) (Bet $136 to collect $236) Get the best odds for this one at FanDuel

I like this play for a lot of the same reasons I like him going over his passing yards prop. I will say, the fact that they will be throwing the ball a lot is not working in our favor, just from a numbers perspective, but I have faith in Hurts.

Jalen Hurts has taken a huge leap this season and has gone from a serviceable QB to one of the best signal callers in the NFL. A massive part of that jump has been how well he takes care of the ball.

In 460 passing attempts this year, Hurts threw just six interceptions. Hurts has become an expert at reading what the defense is giving him and taking what he has. He doesn't bite off more than he can chew, which will be important going up against the Niners' secondary.

Jalen Hurts Longest Completion Over 39.5 Yards (-114) (Bet $114 to collect $214) Get the best odds for this one at FanDuel

This is actually my favorite Jalen Hurts player prop of the weekend and one I personally think hits early on. If we had bet it against the Giants in the Divisional Round, he would have hit it on the second play of the game.

In his last five starts, Hurts has hit this number in four of them. The only time Hurts didn't hit this prop was the final game of the season, against the Giants, in a game that they played a very vanilla offense to just try and get a win while he nursed an injured shoulder.

Hurts has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the pass catchers around him. AJ Brown finished the year with 1,496 yards receiving, Devonta Smith finished with 1,196 yards and Dallas Goedert, despite being injured for much of the year, is one of the best vertical deep threats at the tight end position.

I expect a close game, but I do think the Eagles stretch the ball down the field and should easily get one completion of more than 40 yards.
