Who is going to the Super Bowl? We will know the NFC representative when this game starts. We know it should be a good game when they rename Arrowhead to Burrowhead after the game, or will Kermit and his lousy ankle go to the Super Bowl again? Let's break down a prop we feel should be an easy winner.
Kadarius Toney is a weapon and will be a weapon for a long time, but we feel he will be used more as a runner than a receiver today. When you have Kelce, Juju, and Scantling as receivers who have a better rapport with Mahomes, he will trust those guys more when the season is on the line. Toney was used a few times as a runner because of his speed, and with Mahomes' bad ankle and no Clyde Edwards Helaire, this is their best receiver at running back.
The 24-year-old wideout has gotten seven rushing attempts and 16 receptions since he came to KC. Last week was his best-receiving game, recording seven targets, and five receptions but only 36 yards. He was the No. 2 targeted receiver, which shouldn't happen with all the other talent on this team. With Mahomes' injury, he will trust his main guys and have more short outs to the tight ends. The star QB will also look to his main guys out of the backfield instead of trusting Toney, who had two games with four receptions all year.
The receptions total for Toney is 3.5 -120 for tonight's game. Although the wideout might get one or two targets at most today, the offense has to go through the tight ends and running backs today. Juju and Scantling had four targets and three receptions last week, which combined was less than Toney's. The receiver stepped up last week, but this week he will be used to run the ball, hopefully, more than receiving. Let's take Toney under 3.5 receptions at -120, and let's hope Mahomes remembers the guys who got him here.
