2023 Super Bowl Preview
The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles during Super Bowl 57. While this is expected to be one of the best Super Bowls of the past few years, I personally see one side that I do believe is going to be able to take care of business.
Eagles Super Bowl Preview
Philadelphia ran through everybody in the regular season, finishing with a 14-3 record. They did so in a tough NFC East this season and have continued dominating in the playoffs. The Eagles came away with easy wins against the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional and Conference Championship rounds.
Now, they might have their toughest task at hand and it's going to be interesting to see how this one plays out.
Many believe that the competition that the Eagles have played all season has been weak. I definitely won't say that as that's one of the craziest things that anybody can say, in my opinion.
This is the NFL and no game is easy and that's evident from what we see every single week. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles can beat anybody in football, just as much as the Houston Texans can beat anybody if they're playing their best game and catch a team at their worst. There's a reason why both of these teams have won 14 games, and although the Eagles' competition might not have been as tough as Kansas City, you won't find me disrespecting them.
Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, CJ Gardner-Johnson, Haason Reddick, and many others have been elite players this season for Philadelphia and that's not going to change in the Super Bowl.
Chiefs Super Bowl Preview
Kansas City, on the other hand, comes into this one playing incredible football all season as well, finishing 14-3 in the regular season. They then took care of business against Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional and Conference Championship rounds.
While I do personally believe that the Chiefs might not be better than Philadelphia on paper, I would like to point out one thing here. The Chiefs have much more experience playing in these types of games than Philadelphia does.
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have been in this spot way too many times and I can never bet against them when it comes down to that. The Chiefs have also played a very tough schedule throughout the season as they beat teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals, and others.
If Patrick Mahomes comes out and does Patrick Mahomes things, I don't see them losing this game.
2023 Super Bowl Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total Points |
---|---|---|---|
Philadelphia Eagles | -1.5 (-110) | -125 | O 49.5 (-110) |
Kansas City Chiefs | +1.5 (-110) | +105 | U 49 (-122) |
Eagles Super Bowl Odds
The Eagles Super Bowl odds are going to be favoring them at -125 on the moneyline and -1.5 on the spread line. Considering the type of success Philadelphia has found this year and the public heavily backing them, it's not surprising to see them as the current favorites.
Chiefs Super Bowl Odds
As we can see from the Chiefs' Super Bowl odds, they will be coming in at +1.5 on the spread line and +105 on the moneyline. As I've mentioned a few times above, I believe that Kansas City is getting disrespected here and that this line is off.
2023 Super Bowl Prediction
The second that the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC Championship, I know exactly who I was going to be betting on in the Super Bowl. This one was way too easy for me and while I'm not saying that this is a guarantee by any means, I think this is simply just off.
Philadelphia has been an elite team this season but I do think that they're getting a bit too much love in this spot. According to the public betting data, the Eagles have seen 62% of bets placed on them to beat the Chiefs. The public has historically not done a great job in terms of picking winners in any sport and that's exactly what makes me feel even more confident about this spot. Furthermore, if I can get the Chiefs at plus odds, I'm always going to jump right on that.
The main reason I'm going after Kansas City in this game is because of Patrick Mahomes. I don't think that Jalen Hurts is going to be able to keep up with him and while Philadelphia might be able to get stops at a high level and possibly win this game, I don't imagine them slowing down Mahomes to the extent that they need to in order for them to win the ball game.
The Eagles' defense has a very tough task on hand and they could get the job done. However, I have to back Patrick Mahomes in this spot given what he's done throughout his career.
This is going to be a sweat for all four quarters as both teams could be going back at it every single drive. In past years, there have been arguments made that the two teams in the Super Bowl weren't the two best teams in football during the regular season. That's simply not the case this year as both of these teams have been incredible on both sides and deserve to be in this position. I'm expecting one of the best Super Bowls of the past decade but I'm taking my man Patrick Mahomes to get the job done for us with a 7u play.
