PGA Championship Picks & Predictions: Second Round Three-Ball Parlay
Similar to Thursday, expect the afternoon conditions to be trickier than the morning, however the forecast isn’t predicting such high winds (at least at time of writing).

Group: 4:53 pm: Bernd Wiesberger, Danny Lee, Alex Noren
Brend Wiesberger has a reasonable opening round, the Austrian finished two under but managed to post seven birdies on Thursday. Wiesberger isn’t the best putter in the world, but since the re-start he’s certainly been better than his showing on day one of the PGA Championship. Wiesberger lost -1.47 on the field putting.
I’m not too fussed about Danny Lee, I don’t see him being a danger here. Alex Noren’s played well to score -3, but I still don’t think this is his optimal course.
Group: 3:58 pm: Erik Van Rooyen, Russell Henley, Carlos Ortiz
Eric Van Rooyen was always going to be a dangerous play at this track, his European Tour stats shows he can hit bombs but struggles with his accuracy. However, it was his putting which led him to finishing +1 after the opening round. Similar to Danny Lee, Carlos Ortiz isn’t a danger for me in this trio. Russell Henley’s game is well suited to this track, and will be largely disappointed with his Thursday statistics.
Group: 4:25 pm: Henrik Stenson, Collin Morikawa, Zach Johnson
Morikawa will be relatively pleased with his opening day in California, if the local can get his putter hot over the next few days he can mount a serious challenge. Henrik Stenson’s game is well suited to this course, and is himself a solid top 10/20 bet, but he’s simply not as good as Morkiawa.
Group: 5:09 pm: Louis Oosthuizen, Max Homa, Matt Fitzpatrick
Matthew Fitzpatrick had a terrible opening day of the PGA Championship. The Englishman was uncharacteristically poor with the putter, and his approach play took away plenty of birdie chances. However, this course should suit his game, and with the form coming into the event I’m keen to take the extra bit of value on offer following a poor round.
Group: 5:31 p.m. -- Corey Conners, Zach J. Johnson, Chez Reavie
Chez Reavie will be confident he can pick up a few more shots both off the tee and around the green in the second round of the PGA Championship. Zach J. Johnson was very little chance of beating Reavie, which makes it a straight shoot-out with Corey Conners. The course isn’t the worst setup for Conners, but with Chez’s recent form, I’d be willing to back the American in the shoot-out.
