Ryder Cup Team Picks: Who Would Geoff Fienberg & Rick Gehman Take As Wildcards?

The PGA Tour regular season has come to an end. The first FedEx Cup Playoffs are here and it starts, as it always does, with The Northern Trust. You’ll be able to find Geoff and Rick’s Northern Trust picks tomorrow, but for now, they’re shifting their attention to an event we only see every two years.

The 2021 Ryder Cup, after taking the year off last year due to COVID-19, is sure to be a wild affair. It is one of the only golf events in the world where you get to see wild, loud fans and golfers showing true emotion with every missed or made shot.

But, even though we’re just over a month away from the 2021 Ryder Cup, we still don’t know for sure who will be on each team. So, Geoff Fienberg and Rick Gehman let us know who they think will make both Team USA and Team Europe.

Find out who Geoff and Rick would take for their Ryder Cup teams by watching the complete video below.

Geoff Fienberg & Rick Gehman’s Ryder Cup Team Picks

This year’s Ryder Cup takes place at Whistling Straits, on the Straits Course. Whistling Straits is located in Kohler, Wisconsin. It is the first Ryder Cup to ever take place at Whistling Straits, but the course has hosted three PGA Championships, with the most recent one being in 2015.

Each team selects 12 golfers to play for their team, but each team does it a little differently.

The European team selects the top four golfers in European Points, followed by the next five leaders in World Points and three captain’s picks.

Meanwhile, Team USA selects the top six in points and allows their captain to choose the following six members of the team. This leads to more unknowns and more drama surrounding the team selections.

So far, Collin Morikawa is the only American to have locked in a qualifying. But, big names like Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed, the hero of 2016, are on the bubble when it comes to the 2021 American Ryder Cup Team.

As of right now, this is what both teams look like, according to the latest points.
