Genesis Invitational Picks, Predictions, and Odds: Can Rory McIlroy Get the Job Done?

Close but no cigar. That's what Geoff Fienberg was saying last week for the Waste Management results when Xander Schauffele finished in third place. Geoff had 1.3 units on Schauffele to win at +2200 which would've been a massive win but instead, it's a regroup and try again for the Genesis Invitational.

Geoff Fienberg and Rick Geham break down the upcoming weekend of golf, and preview who they think can get the job done when it's all said and done.

Keep in mind, this is only a preview of the card. Geoff didn't give everything away so there will be more on Wednesday for his complete Genesis Invitational card. Can Geoff get back in the win column this week?

If he does, it's not going to be some chalk answer. Fienberg gave out four picks so far and they range from +2500 to a little sprinkle at +7500. Let's take a look at the guys' early feel in this one:

Genesis Invitational Picks

The biggest play from Geoff in this one was on Rory McIlroy. Rory did not make the cut last year in this event finishing with +7. The next play that Geoff gets into is Tony Finau who finished in second last year.

If you remember, 2021 saw a playoff between Finau and Max Homa. Homa ended up coming out on top but don't forget how well Finau performed here last year.

Joaquin Niemann and Thomas Pieters round out his selections for today. Nieman finished tied for 43rd with a +1 and Pieters was not a participant but his best performance came in the Zurich Classic where he finished tied for eighth.
