US Open Best Bets: Riding with Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and More

Well guys I have been rolling momentum forward here these last few weekends on the course after a nice live bet hit on Justin Thomas at the PGA and then cashing in big on my card last weekend at the RBC Canadian Open cashing six/eight plays for some nice profit. I love to attack Majors and am sure I will have more action than just these plays I am posting here but if I learned anything last week it is that sometimes more can be less here.

I will have additional plays and may post more but I want to dive into a few of my favorites; I see some great lines and value on some golfers that I believe are in excellent form and may be able to tear it up this weekend.

US Open Predictions

Let’s dive in and start with our horse for the weekend. The only reason I can see any argument as to why one would not want to back Rory here this weekend is that he is fresh off a win last weekend. In my eyes however, that gives us all the more reason to back him. He has hauled in victories on back-to-back starts multiple times In his career but is now truly being some of the best golf he ever has.

He is a prolific driver off the golf ball and hits all clubs with exceptional ability out of the tee box; he crushes his irons and his short game has been immaculate this year. The rise and fall of Rory every single week he steps on the course is bogeys and they tend to now come at this point in his career at the hands of his putter; on the other side of things, when his putter is on he is the most dangerous man in the field.

That is inarguable, I do not care what anyone else has to say about the matter. Last weekend the putts were falling in line with the rest of his game and he was dominant in victory; he moved back up to the third spot in the world golf rankings. He was recently quoted saying that he would “dearly love” to be the world number one again and I believe he has an opportunity to do so with the form he is currently in.

In his last five starts, he has finished 2 (at the Masters) 5/8/T18/1. He is a four time Major championship winner yet eight years removed from his last; I guarantee you that Rory McIlroy will be a Major Tournament winner again in his career, he should win multiple. He is only a green jacket away from that career grand slam but he cannot win that this weekend; he can however win his 5th Major title and regain his spot as the world number one with a victory and I expect him to give it all he has. I expect him to be right in the thick of it on Sunday per usual so I am hammering the top ten but if that putter is on, watch out.
