BMW Championship Prediction, Picks, Odds: Should You Back Rory McIlroy?
It is the second to last tournament of a historic PGA season and the BMW Championship will soon be underway at Wilmington Country Club in New Castle County, Delaware. I said it on the show last week and I am standing by it here when the guys tee off tomorrow in the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs: my chips are with Rory McIlroy.

Yes, I will make other wagers, I bet all things in volume for the most part, and golf tournaments are no different but if I had to pick a true favorite this weekend it is the favorite, and for good reason. The Four-time Major Championship winner, the former number one ranked golfer in the world (currently third) is eight years removed from his last major victory, yet he is still the favorite this weekend. If that makes you wonder why let me tell you.
Despite a disappointing (yet still phenomenal) year without adding that fifth Major Championship it is not because he has played poorly. McIlroy genuinely had the best major season in history without a win; he finished eighth or higher in all four Major Tournaments this year including a second-place finish at the Masters and third place at The British Open. Rory defended his title at the RBC Canadian Open in style putting up a number on a strong scoring course beating out Tony Finau and Justin Thomas for the title.
Something similar may happen this week.
The FedEx Cup playoffs tend to go to the high-caliber players; top dogs win these tournaments 95% of the time and that is not an exaggeration. I genuinely only see 12-15 guys possibly winning this weekend and only three are outside the top 20 on the betting board. Rory is a two-time Tour Championship winner and former champion of this BMW Championship itself as well however it is a new course so not entirely the same.
I spent a few hours analyzing the course layout and figuring out what it will take to win this week and I see a low number. Longer hitters will be able to capitalize on two very reachable par fives and it does not stop there. I see guys being able to take a three-wood out of the bag and put wedges in their hands on four or five of these very gettable par fours as well. I think whoever is on their game this weekend can really go low and who is better than Rory in my mind? No one.
Just one victory this season would be robbery, he is arguably in the best form of his career; look for him to bounce back hard from his tune-up tournament last week and go low looking to capture his second BMW Championship title.
BMW Championship Picks

- Rory top ten finish +125 (Bet $100 to Win $125)
