The Aces are captained by Dustin Johnson, who was the top golfer in LIV in 2022 with two wins and two more second-place finishes out of eight total events. Netting $18 million in combined winnings, and setting the table for the first full season of LIV Golf. While I do not currently see any odds listed, here are my best bets without lines being factored in.
We have two former winners of this course are in the field (Pat Perez and Graeme McDowell), and a strong field of former PGA champions highlighted by 40-year-old Dustin Johnson, as we previously mentioned. For those new to betting on LIV Golf, I will provide insight into a few things that are different.
This is a three-day tournament with 48 golfers that are split into teams of four. There are no cuts, but the amount that you make per event matters on where your team finishes as a whole. The rewards at the end of the season are staggering, but being professional athletes on a team, don’t expect a golfer to lose focus outside of the event much, as golfers are among the classiest in the sports world.
One more thing that is fascinating is that every player starts at the same time compared to the PGA, where players are spread out across the entire day. I like the way that LIV does this, as it really makes following a golf event fun and it even makes wagering on LIV to have the potential to be way more exciting to keep up with the modern demographic of bettors, and have played each day of the tournament, as opposed to the PGA being slow, but effective at what it was built for.

From any sort of betting standpoint, look no further than the defending champion Aces, are a team to watch in this match, as they have Pat Perez. Perez is the most recent of any of those competing to win at El Camaleon, which he did in the PGA in 2016. Perez was the lowest finisher on the team in the overall standings, but that is not something to be upset about, as his teammates were the top three players in the entire tour! DJ was in first (as we had discussed), followed by Patrick Reed and Talor Gooch. With that being said, the tour paid big money for guys like Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith to come and show out, so I am confident that 2023 will have lots of excitement, twists, and turns, and they will constantly be adapting to what the market wants to see.
