We had a small slate on the ice last night but we are back with a loaded slate this evening and I am ready to get after it. This is one of the more contested slates of the year so far in my eyes; a lot of strong matchups across the board in regard to records, style of play, and matchup history. I think we see some weird things happen today but there are a few plays already that I love and am looking to dive into. The first play I want us to attack is a nice money line parlay between two of my favorite spots on the board.

Ducks vs Blues Prediction
Well, everything I believed and said about this squad amidst the franchise record losing streak seems to be true and coming in to fruition. Since the eight-game losing streak they have now won six straight; they are back above the .500 mark at 9-8 and the things they needed to figure out are finally happening. They have outscored opponents 27-15 in this time frame and Jordan Binnington has conceded just eleven goals across his last five starts.
The scoring chances were there and puck luck was not all throughout the drought; puck luck is out of your control and part of the game but it is much harder to win when you consistently don't have it. It has returned and the guys are capitalizing on their opportunities, as well as playing much better on the back end. The Blues beat Anaheim 6-2 on Saturday night and with Jordan Binnington back in the net tonight, I like St. Louis to get it done again.
Jets vs Canes Prediction
The second leg of this one is Carolina and I have to do it. They were supposed to get back on track Saturday night and were just two minutes away from it when Minnesota buried the equalizer and went on to win the game in overtime. Carolina is simply playing too well in my eyes to keep losing and the puck luck is screwing them. Pyotr Kochetkov is the superior netminder to David Rittich and I think Carolina stays tenacious and earns a win this evening.
