The NHL roller coaster continues along the rails with 11 more games on Thursday. It is time to get ready and dig all in!

Here are Today’s NHL Picks:

Washington Capitals @ Florida Panthers

  • Nine of the last ten Capitals games have connected on the over. (statschecker).

Washington and Florida do like to play some high-scoring contests. The old Southeast Division rivals have combined for 28 goals over their previous three meetings (all have hit the over). With the star power in this game from an offensive standpoint, the expectation is goals and plenty of them. Florida and Washington both have top-ten power-play units and at 5-on-5 can score in bunches as well. The goaltenders expected to be tested plenty and the pace will be one of the highest event games of the entire slate.

1u – Over 6.5 Total Goals @ -105

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Arizona Coyotes

  • Eight of the last nine Columbus games against the Pacific Division have hit the under.

On the surface, picking the Arizona moneyline seems a no-brainer but the value is just not quite there yet. It may be later so do keep an eye out for it. However, our focus here is on the under which has hit in three straight meetings between these two teams. Darcy Kuemper projects to be in net for Arizona and he is providing top-5 in the league goaltending over the last season and change. Columbus does have issues scoring and at times, Arizona does too. The winning team likely is the first one to three which plays into the odds. If one can get a plus-number here, then take the under.

1u – Under 5.5 Total Goals @ +110

New Jersey Devils @ Calgary Flames

  • Breaking news! The Devils have won two straight games BUT the Calgary Flames have defeated New Jersey in four straight contests. (statschecker).

Neither team has been particularly great this season. Calgary had higher expectations and New Jersey dug a hole the size of a dinosaur. However, both teams are playing better of late. The Flames have won three out of their last four games while New Jersey held an opponent under three goals in what felt like forever. Calgary has gotten the better of New Jersey and even scored six times in the third period the last time these two teams matched up (a wild 9-4 Flames win). With New Jersey’s team defense, one never quite knows what they are going to get. If the goaltender gives up one shaky goal, then look out. Mackenzie Blackwood and David Rittich are the projected goalies. Rittich expects to have the edge in this one along with Calgary. Take the Flames on the moneyline.

1u – Calgary Flames ML @ -166

Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders

  • The New York Islanders have won ten straight games and the under has hit in eight straight Pittsburgh Penguin contests.

This game pits two teams that have some dislike for each other. Revenge is on the Pittsburgh side of the ledger, however. Last season, Pittsburgh was swept right out of the playoffs in round one by the Islanders in a most unexpected way. The Penguins have not forgotten about this in the least and now the Islanders have a momentous winning streak they have been riding. Apparently, Las Vegas has caught on to this as well. Pittsburgh should have had more value here, but they are basically even on the moneyline currently. However, beggars cannot be choosers and Sidney Crosby loves playing against the Islanders (113 points in 66 games). With Evgeni Malkin also back, taking the Penguins here is risky but worth it.

1u – Pittsburgh Penguins ML @ +100
