Daily Picks 11/14: Goals To Fly In Florida
The NHL comes back at us with eight games on Thursday night. It is time to try and make some more dollars from the picks below. Let’s roll!
Here are Today’s NHL Picks:
Arizona Coyotes @ Minnesota Wild
- Nine of the last ten Coyotes contests coming off a shootout have hit the under. (statschecker).
The Minnesota Wild are a better team at home and it shows. They always have ever since they moved from Dallas. In five games (3-1-1 record), the Wild have scored 19 goals which is 3.8 per contest. That is a full 1.19 goals per game over their season average. They yield a half goal a game less in their friendly confines as well. Arizona has been a resilient team and proved that again Tuesday night in a shootout win over St. Louis. The two teams just played a 4-3 game in Arizona where Darcy Kuemper looked clearly rattled against his former teammates. Expect Minnesota to try a lot of those type of moves to get under his skin again. The over at 5.5 goals is a good starting point for value but ultimately our pick is with Minnesota on the moneyline. One can try both but that moneyline is low.
1u – Minnesota Wild ML @ -120
Winnipeg Jets @ Florida Panthers
- Sixteen of the last 18 games following a shootout for Florida have ended in connecting on the over.
Also, there is something about the Florida Panthers and the over again this year. Maybe, it is something in the water, but Florida has seen the over connect in 12 of 19 games including seven of the last ten with one push. Notably there was the New York Rangers game on Sunday and then the Florida game on Tuesday. Winnipeg, for their part, allows 3.62 goals per game on the road while the Panthers yield 3.5 goals per contest at home. Both teams have problems with defensive spacing which often creates lots of opportunities. The only question is if enough goals come. That is always a slight risk. However, Florida is capable of scoring five or six goals by themselves. Take the over before the plus numbers disappear.
1u – Over 6.5 Total Goals @ +120
Dallas Stars @ Vancouver Canucks
- Each of the last eight games following a Dallas win have hit the under the next night. (Statschecker).
Dallas has been in excellent form while Vancouver has been sluggish of late although they did win on Tuesday. Anton Khudobin likely will be in net for Dallas and Jakob Markstrom should be back in net for Vancouver. The expectation is that of somewhat of a goalie duel between these two as Dallas tries to play conservatively after playing in Calgary last night. There is some risk but the last four meetings in this series have all hit the under even when it was set down to 5.5. Vancouver did win three of the four games contested between the two teams in 2018-19. The under is our pick only because the moneyline currently stands around -140.
1u – Under 5.5 Total Goals @ -120
