The reason we’re backing the Flames
The Calgary Flames are coming off a win against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night.
Andrew Mangiapane had two goals and Sean Monahan contributed one goal and one assist for the Flames in a 4-2 victory.
The Flames have won three out of their last five games and they currently hold one of the wild card spots in the loaded Western Conference.
Calgary will have its work cut out for itself but the Flames plus 1 with the puck line is the pick here.
(1u) Islanders -1 @ +162
New York Rangers @ New York Islanders, 7:00 PM:
- Â The New York Islanders have a 13-9 against the spread record in night games against the New York Rangers since the 2014-15 NHL season.
The reason we’re backing the Islanders
The New York Rangers and the New York Islanders will battle at the Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday night.
The Islanders have won two games in a row against the Red Wings and San Jose Sharks.
Anders Lee had two goals and one assist and goaltender Semyon Varlamov came away with 29 saves between the pipes for the Islanders in a 4-1 win over the Sharks.
With the win, the Islanders surged past the Carolina Hurricanes and Columbus Blue Jackets and are now only four points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Metropolitan Division.
The Rangers are hot, having won eight of 10 games, but the Islanders at home minus the 1 goal is the pick here.
(1u) Sharks +1 @ +120
San Jose Sharks @ Philadelphia Flyers, 7:00Â PM:
- Â Since the 2010-11 NHL season, the Philadelphia Flyers have an 80-130 against the spread record at the Wells Fargo Center after a win.
The reason we’re backing the Sharks
San Jose will look to put an end to a four-game losing streak when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers on Tuesday night.
The Flyers, on the other hand, are on a three-game winning streak and they have a 21-5-4 record on their home ice.
Since Jan. 8, the Flyers have a 13-5-1 record and have scored 68 goals which leads the entire NHL.
With all of that said, this is a game the Flyers could easily overlook San Jose.
Take the Sharks plus the 1 goal in Philadelphia.
