We go to our nation's capital for NHL action tonight with Washington at home facing the Winnipeg Jets. The Capitals have only won one game in 2022 going 1-5 this year and it's time to change that because TJ Oshie (13 points in 18 games) is back and he should give this offense a huge lift.

The Capitals are a top 10 offense but currently, they don't look like it because this year (2022) they haven't scored more than three goals in a game yet. The whole team should get a lift and with Ilya Samsonov in goal. They have a huge advantage as he is 13-4 on the year giving up 2.77 goals a game and the fact they had a day off will help as this is the oldest team in the NHL.
Winnipeg got absolutely blasted by the Avalanche the other day and came back and beat the awful Red Wings so not impressed there, but they got the bad taste out of their mouth. The Jets have been affected by Covid more than anyone as they had a whole week of games canceled because of the Canadian attendance restrictions, they have actually only played four games since December 19th.
That's a whole month averaging a game a week if that doesn't mess your rhythm up what will? Going to Washington is not a place Winnipeg wants to be as they don't play much but we went back to 2013 and Winnipeg hasn't won in Washington (0-8). So why should that change today? If we go even further back Washington has won 20 out of 26 at home versus Winnipeg and 14-5 the last 19 in all matchups.

With everything going against Winnipeg, we feel that the Capitals will score more than three goals for the first time this year. The Capitals get at least four goals and we get the win at home.
