Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction: Back the Rested Wild

Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction

We go to the windy city tonight as we watch the number four seed Minnesota Wild play the number seven Chicago Blackhawks in a central battle in Chicago. Huge news tonight for the Wild, former first-round pick forward Joel Eriksson is finally going to play his first game since December 20. He was ready to go last week but Covid got him so tonight he is going in the first of back-to-back games between these teams.

The Wild were very hot until they went where all hot teams end their winning streaks in Colorado recently (15-2 last 17) losing 4-3 in a shootout. Goalie Kaapo Kahkonen played as well as you can against the Avalanche making 35 saves and keeping the Wild in it.  The Wild tied it late and again losing in a shootout isn't something to hang your heads on and Kirill Kaprizov had two goals and is sizzling right now with 12 points in six games. Minnesota has scored three or more goals every game this year which is why they are the number three offense (was surprised at that) and playing against the number 22 defense we will be surprised if they don't get at least the three or maybe four goals tonight they need to win.

Chicago is also coming off a shootout loss but the Kraken are not the Avalanche, it did end a four-game winning streak even though three of those wins were against some of the worst teams in the NHL. Chicago is one of the worst offenses in the league averaging 2.4 goals a game good for 29th out of 32. I think we just got a score of 4-2 Wild.

The Wild have had four days off, they get one of their best players back, they are playing great and are mad about the Colorado loss, have Cam Talbot in goal who is 15-8 on the year looking for his first win of 2022 and in one of the craziest things you will ever see us say the Wild have won 15 of their last 18 games played on Friday(yes they love Friday's we guess). The Blackhawks on the other hand, have a losing home record, before their little winning streak they lost six in a row because they were playing better teams and they even had a loss to Arizona which is pretty bad. The icing on top for us when they play teams with a good winning percentage they are only 23% over a years worth of numbers.  Throw all that together and we only have one choice on Friday. We got to get Wild and ride the Wild to a 4-2 victory in Chicago tonight.
