ANALYSIS

Best Bet for Friday Night: Back This Expert's Cross-Sport Moneyline Parlay

Tonight we have a special treat for you. A parlay! First, we start with the Detroit Red Wings visiting the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are one of the best teams in the NHL and tied for first in the Metro. However, they are coming off a home loss to Seattle in overtime, and we feel they will be more than focused tonight to give Detroit their fourth loss In a row.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Detroit Red Wings - 7:00 pm ET

Pittsburgh is 13-5 at home and had won their last three before the Seattle game. They have a top 10 offense facing a defense that is 25th in the league, while on defense, Pittsburgh is top 10 and even second at only giving up 2.5 goals a game, and they’re going to be playing the team that is 24th in the league at scoring. Pittsburgh was held to one goal in their last game. It has been a long time since they have been held to one goal, especially at home. This team has scored five or more goals in four of their last five games before the Seattle game. On the other hand, Detroit just gave up eight goals to Chicago of all teams. Before that, they have given up five and four, so we expect Pittsburgh to have a huge night against the Detroit goaltender, who is 12 and 11 on the year (Nedeljkovic).

Looking at just the numbers, the Red Wings are 15 and 65 in their last 80 road games. This team just doesn’t win on the road and only has five this year. They are worse as a road underdog; the Red Wings have also only gone 3 and 13 the last 16 times they played in Pittsburgh. The home team has won seven out of the previous nine. This is a favorites-dominated series as well as a home-dominated series. We also have a significant number on the Penguins who have won their last nine home games when they’re coming off of a loss by one goal. In those nine games, they have scored the opponents by almost three goals. Pittsburgh had won 6 in a row, and we feel they will be angry off of this loss and make it seven out of their last eight. The Penguins are one of the hottest teams in the NHL (17-2-1). Better offense, better defense, better team price is a tad high, but Pittsburgh wins tonight.

Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks - 10:00 pm ET

Because the numbers are a little bit high, we will add the Milwaukee Bucks on the money line to win at home. Milwaukee is off of a blowout loss against Cleveland, which ended their little three-game winning streak. Milwaukee was awful from the three-point line, which is their bread and butter hitting only nine out of 32 for a measly 28%. Milwaukee was missing Grayson Allen and Wesley Matthews for that game. One of those will be back 100%, and the other is a game-time decision.

On the other hand, New York has lost five out of their last six. They are talking about trading their best players and only have one win in their previous six games on the road. New York has shot 43% or less in their last four games, and this will be the last meeting between New York and the Bucks, and Milwaukee has won the last two by double digits in New York. Milwaukee will win tonight at home, which will be the final part of the parlay. Pittsburgh Penguins and the Milwaukee Bucks two-team parlay pays -134 to win 100. Enjoy the cross-sport parlay, and let’s keep the streak going with a couple of animals doing the dirty work for us tonight.
