Jets vs. Wild Over/Under Movement

Winnipeg Jets vs. Minnesota Wild Prediction

The Minnesota Wild enter this game in 3rd place in the Central on a record of 28-10-3 for 59 points. They are led by young star Kirill "The Thrill" Kaprizov, who leads the team with 19 goals, 34 assists, and 53 points. Kirill has a deep supporting cast as Mats Zuccarello, Kevin Fiala and Ryan Hartman are all having very solid seasons as well. The Winnipeg Jets, who would like to start the second half of the season strong, have been very inconsistent this season, nothing out of the ordinary, as they are in 6th place in the Central on a record of 18-17-7 for 43 points. They are led by all star Kyle Connor who leads the team with 25 goals, 20 assists, and 45 points. The Jets are missing some key defensive pieces as forward Pierre-Luc Dubois, who is a solid 2 way forward, is in the protocol as well as defensemen Neal Pionk. This will make defending a fast and talented Wild forward group a tall task. These teams have met twice this season in Minnesota and there were plenty of goals in Wild Wins of 6-5 and 7-1.

On the road this season, Minnesota is averaging 3.30 goals per game which is 8th in the NHL. The Wild are giving up 2.78 goals per game which is top 10 defensively. The Wild also have a very good road penalty kill at 82.1% and they have the 6th best road power play at 25.8%. The Wild are also 11th in five on five goals at 46, which shows they can score goals in all facets of the game. At home, the Jets are averaging a 9th best 3.26 goals per game and they are giving up 2.84 goals per game, which is the middle of the pack.

The Jets have the second-worst home penalty kill at 66.7%, which does not match up well with Minnesota's road power play. The Jets' home power play is 25% which is 8th best and should get plenty of looks as the WIld average 10.7 PIMS per game on the road this season. The Wild are starting Kaapo Kahkonen, who has given up at least 3 goals in 4 of his last 5 starts. Winnipeg has not announced their starter yet, but either way, I think we see some goals tonight.
