Tonight, we are diving into what should be an exhilarating meeting between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Minnesota Wild. Both squads have been playing excellent hockey as of late and are among the most talented and dangerous in the sport. 

When two superb squads face off anything can happen and when these two teams meet it tends to be a barn burner. The last seven consecutive meetings between these two squads have gone over and I expect more of the same here tonight.

Minnesota Wild vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction

Both squads have solid netminders but that matters less when both sides have this much offensive prowess. 

They are both among the best in the league when it comes to pushing the pace of a game early and trying to jump on top as quickly as they can. When you do that, you are more likely to generate more High Danger Scoring Chances (HDCF) for yourselves, however, you are also more likely to potentially generate them for the other side.

If that is true tonight, we are golden. In standard five a side hockey both clubs are converting over 50% of their HDCF and as I said, I expect plenty with the pace these two sides will be playing at tonight. 

If you have ever heard an announcer say “and he opens up the scoring here in this one” that’s because the most important goal for an over is the first one.

There has been a goal in the first ten minutes (GIFT) in well over 60% of games for both clubs this season and they line up great tonight specifically. GIFT’s have hit in over 66% of Carolinas road tilts this season and conveniently, there has also been a GIFT in over 66% of Minnesota’s at home.

We like that.

I could give you guys a list of stats and reasons why I like pretty much every play I post but the stats are only part of the read, I’d say 40% at best. I predominantly focus on one sport a season so I can be as sharp as possible and have as much knowledge about the teams that season, how they have been playing, what has been hitting ect. the list goes on forever.

Numbers only tell you so much, however when used correctly they can tell you a lot. There is style to how I approach betting this sport and it has been incredible this season to this point. 

Regression goes both ways in all situations and obviously, you can’t crank everything but when you are putting things together in a way that helps you find a way to consistently win, you ride the waves and trust the reads.
