St. Louis Blues vs Philadelphia Flyers Prediction
The goaltending situation does not look promising for either team. Jordan Binnington is back for St. Louis, making his first start in almost two weeks. In his six starts in 2022, he has a 5.03 GAA.
Even though the Flyers have lost five straight games, they still managed to score three or more goals in all but one of these, so it’s reasonable to assume that they will score similarly on Binnington tonight.
St. Louis has scored at least four goals in four of their last five games, and hopefully will try to start the scoring as soon as possible knowing that Binnington is in goal. If the Blues keep up the offensive pace that they have in their recent games, they shouldn’t be too challenged against any of the options for the Flyers’ goalies: Carter Hart is DTD with an eye-infection, Martin Jones played last night, and Kirill Ustimenko has yet to play in an NHL game. Hart would likely be the worst-case scenario for the over, and even then, it’s unlikely he’ll be at 100% given the circumstances.

Both teams have proven themselves capable of scoring as of late and will only be more motivated knowing that they must defend their struggling goalies only by scoring on the other team's struggling goalie. This total has moved from 5.5 and has already increased to 6.5 on some books. If you like this play, I’d recommend that you take it now. Over 6 (-125) available at Caesars.
