Saturday's NHL Best Bets: Need a Few Picks for Saturday Night in the NHL? Look No Further
Well, this month has been great for us, up until this week where we have just gotten the short end of the stick on numerous occasions. Last night, Carolina won 4-0 but Columbus lays an egg, LA/Anaheim had five goals with nearly the entire third period left and we never got the sixth. This is gambling, it happens.
The goal with my article plays is to dive into the best game or two on the slate. The last few nights on the ice, it just turned out that my favorite game or two each day has been getting us in one way or another. It will come back in waves; we have a few days and it does not change what we are doing with the season.
Tonight, however, I am shaking things up.
I like the two-article setup, but I see spots all across the board today and am tired of choosing the wrong game this week so let’s attack a few spots I like.
Enough with the prologue, let's dive in.

Saturday's NHL Best Bets
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Nashville Predators Prediction
I have taken one under this season; it went over by four. I read under due to it being outdoors, choppy ice, weird conditions I just felt as though the nature of it would feel off for the players. I was wrong. The adrenaline and full focus of these guys will be their tonight and there is a serious amount of firepower that will be out there. The netminders do not bother me in this one, the outdoor stadium is very weird and a change you may not necessarily think of. Their site lines, peripheral vision all of that changes and can easily provide an offensive advantage, especially when swinging the puck around the perimeter.
Despite being what I would consider a more defensive team in the league they can score in bunches and play to their competition excellently. The Bolts play up on the road, look at the history over the last two months. Road games go over a lot more for them than they do in their barn. Nashville has shown time and time again this season their ability to play to competition and score when necessary, just look at what they did in Florida the other night.
This one should be a lot of fun.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Nashville Predators Pick
- PICK: Nashville/Tampa Bay o6 @ -120 (Bet $120 to win $100) (play up to -135)
Montreal Canadiens vs. Ottawa Senators Prediction
Well, the line for this one is set at o6.5 and for good reason, the Habs have found their groove scoring and are looking like they found their game. They know they cannot win the defensive game; they will lose it more than not.
I have mentioned it before, but they have great young talent guys like Suzuki and Caulfield and are finally using them properly. They have been uber aggressive offensively and that pace won’t change; this matchup is ideal. Ottawa has hit the first period over in over 76 percent of their last 25 games; Montreal is on a 9-1 GIFT run doing a lot of that themselves; they have been scoring early and often.
Montreal Canadiens vs. Ottawa Senators Pick
- PICK: Montreal/Ottawa 1P o1.5 @ -130 (Bet $130 to win $100) (play up to -145)
Boston Bruins vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction
I’ll keep this one short and sweet, it’s more of a gut play. There is not a crazy amount of data for me to throw at you but SJS is 5-0 L5 1P overs and Boston just started their road trip the other night; they looked great early and had around SOG in the first. Boston is 6-4 L10 1P overs and is trending upwards; the lines on these have been getting ridiculous so I am taking a stab at a good spot with excellent value here.
Boston Bruins vs. San Jose Sharks Pick
- PICK: Boston/San Jose 1P o1.5 -110 (Bet $110 to win $100)
I love action all across the board and have some other spots I like but the value on all of these are pretty awesome and are among some of my top plays I have locked in. I made a little parlay for you all as well that incorporates some of these plays and a few others for a nice payout down below. Best of luck to all who tail as always.
We ride.
