Matt McCuen likes the San Jose Sharks against the Seattle Kraken. Here's why he's fading the Seattle Kraken tonight in their matchup

San Jose Sharks vs Seattle Kraken Prediction: Back the Home Sharks

There are few things in the world better than a sport to bet late on a Sunday night. Say you are about to have to pay the books some money due to a bad week, and then boom, you see this one game is on the board that can change it all. That is the case tonight on the ice as the Seattle Kraken will take on the San Jose Sharks in a western conference affair.

The Kraken have been unbelievably disappointing this season. They were thought to be a playoff team in their first year as a franchise; their pre-season team total on points was 92.5, which I grabbed the under on and, with a loss of any form tonight, that under will cash in.

The Sharks on the other side of things, have been as average as possible, playing to a 23-23-6 record. They came into the year not expected to be a playoff team and have played to that narrative thus far. Their best player this season has been Timo Meier, who has scored twenty-four goals this season while adding twenty-nine assists. His fifty-three points are good for twenty-first in all of the NHL.

Veteran defenseman Brett Burns had really stepped things up this season and been great for San Jose. The Kraken have been led by the services of Jared McCann, who has racked up twenty-one goals to this stage in the season. This should be a good battle tonight between a couple of teams that sit towards the bottom of the western conference.

The pick I am turning to in this game tonight is going to be to back the San Jose Sharks on the money line. I have had great success fading this Kraken team, and I think that trend will continue tonight. They simply have not been able to figure anything out this season on offense or defense, and I do not see that changing here down the stretch.

Although they are separated by just one spot in the standings, the Sharks have been the much better team this year. The sharks also are a better home team, while the Kraken enter play with a road record of just 7-16-2. They have been a great fade anywhere they play this season but especially here tonight on the road. I will back the team who has more offensive firepower and is playing better hockey. I need everyone to bet on the Sunday night special and get rich with me!
