Well, hopefully, you guys have been along for the ride so far this week as we have enjoyed a nice 8-2 run on the ice so far but don’t worry if you haven’t; we have two great spots to keep that train rolling here tonight. No further prologue from me today, I just want to dive into this slate.

We start our evening north of the border as the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leaf’s give us the sequel to their first contest this season; it was a good one. Toronto won a nine-goal barnburner by just a goal as the Sabres gave the powerhouse a good run for their money.
This one should be plenty of fun as well.
Toronto had a really poor run about a week ago and dropped some really good opportunities to grab points in the race for the playoffs. They have taken these frustrations out on their last three opponents as they have scored 18 goals in nine periods and beat all three squads while at least covering the puck line as well (two or more for my new hockey folks.)
They are burying the biscuit at home this season and there are some great splits backing them in this one; they are netting 3.48 GPG at home this season and they have covered their team total (set currently at over 4.5) in eight of their last ten home games. They have the best home power play conversion rate in the league at 33.3% which is awesome.

Buffalo does not have crazy firepower, especially on the road; They do however love to give up goals. They are ranked 5th worst in the league at 3.71 GA/G this season and the man between the pipes for them tonight, Craig Anderson, is sporting a 3.01 GAA. The man gave up six goals to Columbus; give Toronto a few power plays and I bet they go for seven.
In all seriousness, Buffalo will play a little hockey tonight and with backup netminder Peter Mrazek in net, they should be able to grab a few; Toronto tends to concede at least two goals a game and have given up some good looks lately. In the end, however, I just must believe in my narrative for Toronto this season a little longer.

This season is crucial, they are too good to keep busting like they have. You need to set the tone in the back half of the season and get two points every night you have an advantageous opportunity to do so. They will light the lamp in this one but in my eyes, Buffalo simply just does not have the horses to win this one.
