We are heading down south as the Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Carolina Hurricanes. These have been two of the best teams in all of the NHL this season, and this will be a fun game to watch tonight.

These teams place number one and number two in the metropolitan division to this point in the season. The Hurricanes hold the one seed with seventy-nine points while the Penguins are on their heels with seventy-six points. The Penguins have been led by the usual suspects as Sidney Crosby has turned in another great season. This season, the big scoring gun for the Penguins has been the pride of Omaha Nebraska Jake Guentzel. Guentzel has twenty-six goals to this stage in the season which is good for fifteenth in the NHL.

Kris Letang has helped out with a few of those as he enters play ranked seventh in the NHL with forty-three assists. The Hurricanes have been led by Sebastian Aho. Aho, a native of Finland, has been outstanding for the hurricanes leading them in goals with twenty-four while dishing out thirty-two assists. This season, the Hurricanes have also been a very good defensive team led by goaltender Fredrik Andersen. This should be a great game tonight between two of the NHL's most talented teams. 

The play I am going with tonight is going to be the Carolina Hurricanes on the moneyline. I love this spot for the Canes, who are fresh off a bad loss last night. The Hurricanes have not lost often this season in back-to-back games, so I will continue to follow that trend in this game tonight.

I typically don't love to bet on teams on back to back, but the Penguins are also entering play tonight on a back-to-back. The Penguins are fresh off a win last night in Tampa, where they won 5-1. I think people may look at this win and overreact a bit, so this should be a great buy-low spot on the Hurricanes. I have this line closer to -170, so the line we are getting here looks like a gift to me. I expect the Hurricanes to play much better on defense than they did last night, and their offense should get things rolling after being shut out in Washington. Let's keep things rolling on the ice here tonight.
