Nashville has been one of the sneaky good teams this year and not too much was expected at the start of the season; that is no longer the case. Jusse Saros has shown out this season and is playing excellent hockey between the pipes but due to the squad being on a back-to-back I do not expect to see him out there tonight. 

Nashville has had a lot more offensive production than expected and is really turning things up In particular on the road; they are netting 3.31 GF/G this season while on the road and tend to turn it up when they do not have their brick wall between the pipes.

Minnesota has honestly been quite a letdown in this second half of the season despite playing rather well as a unit and solid offensive production. They are sporting a 3.25 GAA at home this season due to poor play between the pipes and just giving up too many quality looks. The pace they play at forces the issue for and against them, it goes both ways.

They give up more goals due to their style of play and poor play on the back end, but they have a lot of offensive prowess and it shows, especially in their own barn where they are netting a rather impressive 4.25 GF/G this season in their own barn. 

I said in my last article that Minnesota is one of those teams in the league that Is right on the cusp of being elite but they will not do that or see a lot of success in the postseason if they continue to give up goals as they have. I am not sure if they are going to make a move for some help or what but regardless It will not be cleaned up by this evening. 

Nashville is 8-2 L10 1P o1.5 on the road; Minnesota compliments them and that trends nicely with an 8-2 run over their last 10 at home. I expect these squads to get things going early and in a perfect world we have a solid shot at cashing in on this total late in the second period but as long as we have 2-3 by the end of the second, there will be a crazy amount of opportunity at the end, especially If Minnesota is trailing.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction

I’ll keep this one short; Vancouver games are flying over right now and Tampa Bay is due for an offensive explosion. It goes without saying the offensive firepower that the reigning back-to-back Stanley cup champions possess is elite and able to pop off at any time. They truly play like a veteran squad and have an ability to capitalize on small mistakes and turn them into high-quality looks time and time again.

They are talked about less than some of the other top squads quite a bit and I honestly believe it is just because success is expected. They have one of the best records in the league and continue to consistently dominate the greater majority of the league. They are on a three-game skid and when you have 37 wins that does not happen often; they are due for a get-back game here in a very major way. The bolts are netting a league second-best 3.61 GF/G on the road this season despite being held to one in each of their last two contests.

Do not get me wrong, Vancouver is a good squad and their record reflects that. Thatcher Demko has been great this season and I do not see him falling off the wagon by any means but there have been 41 goals in the last five Vancouver Canucks games. They are scoring plenty and conceding plenty, netting at least three in four of their last five against some good squads, and have given up at least 3 goals in all five of their last five games.

Tampa Bay is known to turn it up on the road and that is usually where their totals have the best value. Vasilevskiy is incredible and will be between the pipes tonight, but he has shown flaws lately and I do not see him shutting out Vancouver tonight by any means. Tampa Bay should clean up their losing streak and get back in the W column tonight but regardless of what happens, these teams will score.
