Colorado Avalanche vs. Nashville Predators Prediction: Does Matt Duchene Get Shots Off in Game 2?
Tonight is the night for the prestigious Rail's Up End of the Year Banquet over at the luxurious Wamesit Lanes in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Not to brag, but at this event, yours truly will be accepting awards for high average, high scratch game, high handicap game, high scratch series, and the brand new Bowler of the Year Award. I know I don't have to say this, but you don't show up at an event like this without some action. It's simply not done. Since the NBA is taking the night off, we'll have to look to the ice. Obviously, I already have a play on Chris Kreider that has no chance of losing but that game is at 7:00 pm ET. He will have already covered by the time the banquet starts at 8:00 pm. I thought this through already which is why I targeted a 9:30 pm ET game. It's the smart thing to do.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Nashville Predators Prediction
Matt Duchene Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-134) (Bet $134 to win $100)
*Odds Available at FanDuel at Time of Publishing*
People are going to get mad about all the juice today and all I can say is it's not my fault. There's no alt line for these things. My hands are tied. I went with FanDuel because DraftKings has 2.5 for -135. BetMGM is out here crushing people with 2.5 at -140. It's the wild west in this market and after seeing all the nonsense, I feel alright with -134 even though that is crazy as hell too.
If you don't know about Matt Duchene, let me fill you in on a secret. The guy is a shot machine. He's only 5'11" and I don't like betting on guys under 6 feet tall but I'm willing to make an exception. This guy was the third overall pick back in 2009. He knows what he's doing and he plays like he's at least 6'1" so there's that too. Oh, and do you know who took him third overall? The team he's playing against tonight, the Colorado Avalanche.
I don't know what happened with the Avalanche but it was probably not good. They traded him in 2017 like a bum to the Ottawa Senators. I don't know about you but people remember when their first significant other trades them in like a bum. You want to kill them (nicely). And that's just what Duchene has been doing ever since (shot wise) to the Avalanche.
In Game 1, Duchene was able to get off four shots in just 16 minutes of ice time. The Predators were getting smoked so bad that he barely played. Still got four shots off though. Just like every other time he's played Colorado this season. My bad, one time he only took three but that would still cover this line. But in the other two, he popped off for five and six shot attempts. The guy hates Colorado and we all know the golden rule in gambling is to back the hate. It's just how hate works.
