In Game 3 of the Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes series, should you expect goals tonight? Lightning Locks breaks it all down.

Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction: Should You Expect Heavy Offense in Game 3?

We go to Game 3 of the Carolina Hurricanes vs. Boston Bruins series if you can call it that so far. As we said before the series started this has been one-sided and it has continued in the first two games as Carolina has been dominant. After a 16-1 goal advantage in the regular season, the Hurricanes have outscored Boston 10-3 and it hasn't even been that close. So, in five games this year Carolina has outscored Boston 26-4  which also means in five games they have averaged six goals a game which is all you need tonight to win the over.

Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes Prediction

Carolina took advantage of numerous 5-on-3 situations and scored two power play goals in the last game. In the last game, Carolina's backup goalie, as we all know Frederik Andersen the starter goalie is out for another week probably, Raanta was bloodied and knocked out by Bruins star David Pastrnak and is out for tonight's Game 3.

So now we have a third string goalie, Pyotr Kochetov who stopped 30 shots last game and hasn't lost this year, (3-0 regular season) is the only choice for goal tonight. Is he good or was it just adrenaline is the question we will have answered tonight, but if Boston can't beat and score on the rookie tonight you may as well say sweep because that's what it will be.

The coaches have been talking about Bostons' dirty play and how they took out their goalie and they have said they will not be pushed around and this game will be a physical, ugly battle. The over has won in Carolina's last five games, and the last four in this series this year. Six goals have been scored in every game but the first one and with a total of 5.5 that's all you need to win tonight.

Boston has scored four goals in five games against Carolina. That's just embarrassing in our opinion. We all know Carolina is the best defense in the NHL, number one in most categories but Boston was the second-best team on shots on goals and they are getting the shots they are just not going in the net.

With a third string goalie in tonight, a rookie making his first start if there was ever a time Boston would score more than two goals in a game against Carolina, tonight is that night. Boston is also missing Hampus Lindholm one of their better defensive players and Carolina has their goalie issues.

Guess what, so does Boston as the coaches have seen enough of Linus Ullmark giving up over 4 goals a game in the playoffs and they are going with Jeremy Swayman who was 23-14-1 and gave up 2.41 goals a game in the regular season. Swayman did play once against Carolina and stopped 21 of 23 shots in a loss. But, this game comes down to one thing for Boston to obviously win or get swept and that thing is David Pastrnak hasn't done a thing in the playoffs as his name isn't on any score sheet and he is the leader of this team and it goes how he goes. If Pastrnak doesn't deliver tonight his legacy and Boston's chances all end tonight just like that.

We don't care who wins the game as of course we are rooting for Carolina to win the series as fast as possible but what we do care about is that the game goes over. Let's take the over 5.5 at Draftkings or any book and get the 6 we need for the win again. So put your TV on TNT  tonight at 7:10 Eastern and let's watch and win together.
