I expected a short series here, and despite Washington's surprising Game 1 win, I still do. While the Panthers were a wagon at home during the regular season, they also were a good road team. Florida had a road record of 24-11-6 where they averaged 3.56 goals per game and 3.00 goals against. The Capitals were a mediocre home team during the regular season.
Washington had a home record of 19-6-6 where they averaged 3.15 goals per game and 3.10 goals per game. Samsonov, if he gets the call, also struggled on home ice. Ilya was 9-6-2 with a 3.06 goals-against average and a .883 save percentage at Capital One Arena. Vitek Vanecek was not much better as he had a home record of 10-8-4 with a 2.69 goals-against average and .906 save percentage. I was on the Fla Win/Over 5.5 combo bet in Game 2 and I am going back to it, at plus money, in Game 3.
