Nashville Predators vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction

The Colorado Avalanche propelled themselves to a 3-0 series lead over the Nashville Predators with a 7-3 win on Saturday. Captain Gabriel Landeskog led the way with two goals and two assists and Pavel Francouz stopped 18 of 20 shots after relieving Darcy Kumeper late in the first. Kumeper left the game as he took a stick to the eye, his status for Game 4 is unknown.

Nashville fought hard as the game was tied at three in the second but, as for much of this series, Colorado's offense proved to be too much. Colorado peppered Nashville with 41 shots and have outshot the Predators 138-81 while outscoring them 16-6 in this series. Nashville goaltender Connor Ingram has filled in admirably for David Rittich but the Avs have proven to be too much to overcome.

Place a $1,000 RISK FREE bet on Predators vs Avalanche on FanDuel I typically like to play overs in elimination games, not that this series needs an extra reason to take the over. Coaches have been pulling goalies a lot earlier in these playoffs as you are seeing them pulled at the five-minute mark at times, which is leading to empty net opportunities. That should be the case tonight as I don't think the Predators have anything left in the tank. The difference in this series has been Colorado's Power Play.

The Predators were one of the most penalized teams in the NHL this season and that has continued into the playoffs. The Predators have taken 52 PIMs in this series which has led to 6 Colorado Power Play goals, on 14 attempts. Nashville's inability to stay out of the box should continue to haunt them tonight. After last season's disappointing second-round loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, the Avs appear to be on a mission to prove the doubters wrong. The first round has seen an astounding amount of goal scoring and I think that continues tonight in Nashville, as the Avalanche look to advance.
