St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild Best Bet: Can You Trust the Blues on the Road?

Well guys I am pumped up for this one I have to be honest. Before the game on Sunday I shared my thoughts going into the game and said what I believed needed to be done for St. Louis to get to where they want to be.

St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild Prediction

The Stanley Cup playoffs are a game of attrition; the teams that go all the way are playing an extra two months of hockey and I feel like that is drastically overlooked by the average fan. The odds of staying healthy through the entirety of it is rare and unluckily for the Blues the game started early this postseason.

Three of their top six defensemen in Nick Leddy, Robert Bortuzzo, and Tory Krug all went down in the first three games and the boys found themselves heading into game four with an unfamiliar back end down 2-1 in the series. You need to adapt, the stronger facets of your game need to shine through brighter and you have to play with what you have. Find a way to win game four, see who gets healthy and make this a three-game series.

Check, check, check.

St. Louis won in stellar fashion and tonight both Nick Leddy and Robert Bortuzzo will be returning to the lineup. I am sure that they will be cautious at first as the last thing you want to do is reinjure a player immediately and lose him for the whole thing but as the game picks up and guys settle in I’m sure Berube lets his horses run if they are healthy.

With both of those players back this team looks much more like the squad that shutout Minnesota in St. Paul during their game one victory; Krug being out still hurts as he adds a two way dynamic to the rotation and quarterbacks the power play beautifully. With that said, Perunovich and Faulk both look excellent filling in and did a tremendous job in game four so with more help returning on the backend and more time under their belts in the positions I love the look they are sporting.

I said from the start this series may go seven games and still believe it; Minnesota should be hungry on home ice and are more than capable of winning but they should not be a heavier favorite than before with St. Louis only getting stronger with players returning.

The total is a great play so we are attacking it but I love the value in my boys and threw a player prop I love in for you all as well.
