Flames vs. Stars Game 5 Line Movement

Calgary Flames vs. Dallas Stars Game 5 Prediction

We go back to the NHL, where we have been on fire, and let's get to the night game as we only have three games now as the Colorado series was a joke and is finally over. We have a massive game 5 in all series, especially in this one, as the Calgary Flames try to take the lead over the pesky Stars (2-2 currently).

See complete odds here for tonight's Flames vs. Stars Game 5 showdown.

In the last game, the Flames dominated offensively and, most importantly, defensively as they didn't give up a goal all game until a garbage goal late. They took 19 more shots on goal, including 54 (franchise record ), the most they have taken in the playoffs, and the most Dallas has given up. Dallas goalie (Oettinger) has been great, but no one can stop that many shots in a game as Calgary scored more in the last game than they did in the previous three. Has Calgary figured out the Dallas defense and their goalie Oettinger or was the last game a fluke? We feel Calgary was the better team, and with this game on their home ice and a chance to take the lead in this series, this is the most crucial game for both teams. "I think the momentum is we're going home to play in front of our fans," said forward Johnny Gaudreau, who tallied a penalty-shot goal in the third period of Calgary's 4-1 victory. Calgary knows to win this game, and you have a considerable edge in the series is how hard it would be to win a Game 7 road game if it came to that. The scoring is how you win, but how did Calgary get the scoring is the key to tonight and the rest of the series. Calgary used their huge edge of speed and forechecking, and they finally broke down the Dallas defense, which has been excellent all postseason. Dallas has won because of their goalie. There is no question when you have a 1.53 GAA and a .960 save. You are the man they speak about, but the defense was great until, as we said, Calgary might have flipped the switch and finally figured out how to beat it. So far in this series, Calgary has a 150-106 margin on shots, and when you are taking 11 more shots a game, you are usually going to end up on the winning side." He was the only reason we were in (Monday's) game," coach Rick Bowness said. "I told the coaches after the game we just wasted a great goaltending performance. Their guy made some big saves. He didn't get many of them, but he made some big saves at the right time. Otter was outstanding." We aren't just talking here. The coaches say it, and the team knows they are only in this series because of goaltending. We have spoken about Calgary's offense is far from the offense. It was all regular season because of goaltending but let's give credit where credit is due, as Calgary goaltending has given up only seven goals, including a shutout. Heck, you take away Joe Pavelski, who has scored three of his team's seven goals, with two of the other four tallied into empty nets. This team has had no offense at all in this series. This is the crucial game in the series. The better team is clicking after the last game, and we feel that this is too important a game for them to lose. None of the four games have gone into overtime, and the last six this year haven't either. With that being said, we are confident that Calgary can win this game in regulation, so we will take Calgary -125 three-way or regulation to win this game and get one step closer to advancing to the next round. Lay the small number and watch Calgary get back the home-ice edge tonight.
