Colorado Avalanche vs St. Louis Blues Prediction: Will the Red Hot Avalanche Offense Stay Hot?
The Avs ousted the Predators in four games in the first round and the Blues defeated the Wild in six games. These teams met in the first round last season, resulting in a four-game Colorado sweep as they outscored the Blues 20-7. I expect this series to be much more competitive than last year's matchup. These teams met three times during the regular season, the Blues picked up a 5-3 road win in October and the Avs responded with a 4-3 in late October, in St. Louis, and a 5-3 home win in late April. Here is my prediction, pick, and the odds for the Colorado Avalanche vs St. Louis Blues Game 1.

Colorado Avalanche vs St. Louis Blues Prediction
During the playoffs, the Avalanche are averaging 5.25 goals per game and allowing 2.25. They have scored 7 Power Play goals, in four games, and have allowed three Power Play goals. The Blues are averaging 3.67 goals per game and are allowing 2.67. Their Power Play, which was the difference in round 1, is leading the playoffs with eight goals scored and their penalty kill has allowed four goals. Special teams will be a key matchup in this game, and series, as during the regular season, the Blues' Power Play was 3-11 against the Avs and Colorado's Power Play was 0-7 against St. Louis.

Jordan Binnington took back the starting job during the first round as he relieved Ville Husso after Game 3's loss. Binner went on to win the next three, while only allowing five goals. He may be playing with a chip on his shoulder now. During his career, however, he has struggled against the Avs, posting a 7-8 record with a 3.27 GAA and a .895 Save %. After a scary eye injury in Game 3, Darcy Kuemper looks ready to go for the Avs. Kuemper was rock solid down the stretch and answered any questions the Avs had in net. In his career against the Blues, he is 9-5 with a 2.44 GAA and a .917 Save Percentage. Overs have been hitting at a high rate during this year's playoffs, and I don't see anything changing in this series. St. Louis will contribute more offense than the Predators did and they have struggled, defensively, all season. Colorado may start slow, due to their extended layoff, but I can definitely see at least a 3-3 game here.
