Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction: Can the Flames Snap Their Losing Streak?

The Edmonton Oilers vs. the Calgary Flames will take place tonight from Calgary for an important game five of this seven-game set. The Flames jumped out to a 1-0 lead, then the Oilers struck back and ripped off three wins in a row. This means that with a win tonight, the Oilers would advance to the western conference finals for the first time in the Connor McDavid era. Let's get into the Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers odds, predictions, and pick for today.

Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction

If you are not familiar with the Oilers, they are one of the best offenses in the league, led by McDavid. The issue for the Oilers has been giving up goals the last couple of seasons. Not only had the goaltending position been weak, but the defense as well. Mike Smith is the man who they have turned to this season, and he actually has had a solid postseason.

The Flames were a top ten offense in the NHL this season as well, but they have really struggled scoring goals in the postseason. They know how bad they need this game tonight to give themselves a chance in this series. The Flames entered as heavy favorites to win the series and advance to the western conference finals as they were priced at -190 pre-series. They are a -150 favorite to win the game tonight on home ice.

I will be backing Calgary tonight at home. This is a do-or-die game, and they are in their home building. I will be shocked if they do not come out with a ton of energy and dominate this game. I did think Edmonton would win the series, but I did not think it would be in five games. This team is too talented to lose four straight hockey games. Their offense has looked better in the last couple of games, and I think some of the scoring chances that they have not been able to finish will get finished tonight. The home crowd should be electric and give this Flames team a jolt. I think the Flames live to see another day tonight!
