Thursday's NHL Playoff Best Bets: Hurricanes vs. Rangers, Oilers vs. Flames
I'll be keeping the game one write up short and sweet. I have been on Carolina all postseason and have futures on them, I will not back down now.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Rangers Prediction
They have to win this hockey game, I do not see them winning this series if they don’t (of course they can but I find it unlikely.) They are 6-0 on home ice this postseason and 0-6 on the road; Igor has turned it back on but has struggled on the road this postseason as have New York at times.
Carolina is a different team at home and incredibly hard to beat in three consecutive hockey games, especially with the third on home ice. The last thing Carolina wants to do is go back to New York down 3-2 in a series they led 2-0; I expect an all or nothing type of relentlessness from the Canes tonight.
Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Rangers Pick

Edmonton Oilers vs. Calgary Flames Prediction
Well before this series started, I was all about Calgary, they had the edge in the netminder category by far and their overall depth just seemed as if it would be their strength in winning this series. I wanted to see Edmonton get out of this and into the WCF but through the first four periods of the series it looked so unlikely; then they flipped a switch.
Edmonton’s horses, those top six guys really needed to put their team on their backs and get over the hump and that is exactly what they did. They dominated games two and three and seemed to be on track for the same in Game 4 but Calgary finally woke up, they just did it too late. Now with an Edmonton commanding 3-1 lead in the series, Calgary finds themselves in the seat that St. Louis was in last night but worse, they have lost three straight.
The season is on their sticks tonight and I know they will come out hard but the Oilers appear to be on a mission and Jacob Markstrom does not. You need him to step up and have to take this game on home ice to force game six, that is all they are trying to do and they will throw everything they have at it. I am not taking a side here at the moment, just the total.
I took Edmonton six minutes. Before puck drop in game four, I got the tingle that I get from time to time. Check back on my page pre game to see if I decide I am backing a horse here but for now I am on the total in the desperation game in a series that has seen an abundance of scoring.
Edmonton Oilers vs. Calgary Flames Picks

- Edmonton/ Calgary o6.5 -122 (Bet $122 to win $100)
