Edmonton Oilers vs. Colorado Avalanche Game 4 Prediction

The Colorado Avalanche and the Edmonton Oilers battle will take place on Monday night for game four of this series. The Avs took the first two on their home ice with relative ease but stole a game on Saturday night in Edmonton to push this series to 3-0. The chances of the Oilers coming back from this are slim to none, but they will look to extend this series tonight and push it back to Colorado.

The Avs entered the playoffs as the favorites to win the Stanley Cup, and we see why. This is a team filled with talent across the board, headlines by young stars Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar. This team can make a non-hockey fan into a hockey fan with their style of play. They play fast, hard, and smart.

The Oilers, on the other side of things, are one of the more fun teams to watch in all of the NHL, led by a pair of former MVPs in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. This season, the Oilers were not slated to be in this spot due to their poor defense and goaltending. Mike Smith was much better in games two and three than he was in game one, but he has been extremely inconsistent over the year. The Oilers will need Smith to turn in a strong performance tonight to live to fight another day!

I am backing the dog in the Oilers tonight. I believe that this team will come out and play with everything they have as their season is on the line. I think they end up losing the series in five, but I will be surprised if they got swept on their home ice.

The Oilers have had chances to win multiple games in the series the Avs have just made more plays down the stretch. This shows me that they are not that far off and could easily steal a game on their home ice tonight. The Avs did their job, so the energy and intensity should be much higher from the Oilers. Let’s stay hot on the ice tonight!
