Well, tonight, we have one of the best slates of the year to this point so far, and I am ready to jump all over quite a few games. Totals are looking incredible tonight, and I want to play quite a few of them, but I do have a few favorites, and some spots are standing out more than others.

Arizona Coyotes vs. Columbus Blue Jackets Prediction
The first total I want us to attack this evening is one of the first pucks dropping on the slate tonight, and that is the clash between the Arizona Coyotes and the Columbus Blue Jackets. At first glance, this is not the most attractive or eye-catching matchup on the board, but after a brief analysis of the matchup, it stood out, and the more I have dug into it, the more attractive it is.
Although neither are what you would consider powerhouse teams in this league, they are trending in opposite directions. Columbus is 3-4 on the season and has played well against solid competition; Patrick Laine returns to the lineup tonight, who is one of the centerpieces of that team, and offensive production should ramp up with his return here, especially on home ice. The Desert Dogs, on the other hand, are 1-4 and seem to have picked up right where they ended last season.
Both squads are going with backup net minders here, and I was not impressed with Daniil Tarasov in his opening performance. Connor Ingram has the net for an Arizona team that cannot keep opponents from scoring and is sporting a .838 SV% along with a 5.00 GAA on this season thus far.
The total is 4-1 to the over in Arizona's games this year and 5-2 in CBJ's; both rank in the bottom six teams in the league for goals allowed. Arizona has hit the over 1.5 in 80% of first periods, 80% of second periods, and 100% of third periods so far this season, so the scoring can and most likely will come all throughout this one. Columbus should carry the production here but considering how they look so far and the fact that both of their meetings last season tallied nine and ten goals, I love the total.
