Buffalo has been extremely impressive through their first five games this season. The Sabers had fairly high expectations for their roster coming into the season. This is an extremely talented team who is young and looking to find their way. Early on in the season, the Sabers have clicked in all aspects and will look to continue their strong play on the road tonight. They have been led by Alex Tuch so far this season, who leads the team with six goals.
The Kraken, on the other side of things, have not been great to kick off the year playing to the tune of a 2-3-2 record. Seattle just became a team last season, and despite many people thinking that they could be a playoff team last season, they really struggled to find their footing. They were not slated to be a playoff team coming into the year, but the Kraken feel confident that they can surprise the league this season. Seattle has a team that, on paper, should be able to compete. The question mark moving forward is if they can put all the pieces of the puzzle together. We will find out if they can pull off the win over the red-hot Sabers tonight.
I am all over the Kraken in this spot. This is a pure line read to me. Let’s break down this line a bit. Buffalo has clearly been the better hockey team this season, and overall, Buffalo is a more talented unto than Seattle is but this is all about the spot. The Sabers are due for some regression, and the Kraken, on the other side of things, should be the beneficiary of that tonight. Home ice is always an advantage as well.
