Wednesday night features just two NHL games but that isn't stopping NHL handicapper JT Miller from finding value on the slate. He's here with his best bet from TNT's featured NHL game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
ANALYSIS

Buffalo Sabres vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Sidney Crosby and the Penguins Light It Up?

In tonight's first piece, we will dive into my favorite of the two NHL games tonight. The Pittsburgh Penguins are in Buffalo looking to do battle with the Sabres, and I am psyched about this one. These are two of the league's elite squads with an absurd amount of offensive prowess and firepower. Yes, defense wins championships however we are nowhere near the Stanley Cup Playoffs yet, and the modern age of hockey revolves around pace and which squad can put more pucks in the back of the net.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction

Buffalo is well-rested here and should have that

Buffalo and Pittsburgh rank within the top five teams in the league regarding scoring and within the top third of the league for goals allowed. Ottawa is netting a league fourth-best 3.67 GPG while conceding at a rate of 3.44 GAA. Pittsburgh counters with a higher GAA at 3.46 (3.5 GA/G) and the league's fifth-best 3.66 GPG. They rank third and fourth in total goals per game at 7.11 TOT for Ottawa and 7.00 flat for Pittsburgh.

These teams are playing with a lot of pace and capitalizing on scoring opportunities even though they don't rank within the top third for PP% converted. I am not saying either team Is sporting a bad unit out there on the man advantage at all. It means that these squads are producing at a phenomenal rate, even strength, which is good for us.

Casey DeSmith should be between the pipes for the Penguins, and I always love fading backup netminders. Eric Comrie is sporting a solid save percentage just north of .900 but still has a 3.31 GAA. Pittsburgh blew a 5-2 lead last night. Expect them to look for vengeance tonight and to avoid moving to a six-game losing streak after such an electric start to the season.
