Now we are onto the ice and what a truly glorious Thursday night slate we have In front of us this evening. Thirteen games on what I do believe is the largest single-day slate of the season so far and I am psyched.
This has the potential to be an electric evening for us and there are spots all over the board calling out to me. I plan on listening to them so without any further prologue here let's dive into our first play. Let's break down my prediction, pick, and odds for tonight's matchup.

Tonight's first play here is one of my favorite totals this evening as two of the league's worst defensive teams are clashing in what I expect to be a battle of who can score more, plain and simple. Vancouver ranks fourth worst in the league so far this season sporting a 3.96 GAA per game and Anaheim betters them with a 4.21 GAA. Neither squad ranks that highly in scoring to be fair however that type of play on the back end negates the lower level of offensive potency in my eyes.
These teams are conceding early and often, although they are scoring well early as of late, with both ranking in the top three for the first period o1.5's as well. Vancouver leads the league with 9/10 games thus far seeing at least two goals in the first period. It appears the trend from last season that Anaheim finished off with in regard to early scoring/conceding has carried over as they are just two spots behind ranking third in the league at 8/10 so far.
The earlier a goal is scored in a game the more likely totals are to cash and I would not be shocked if we saw 2-3 in the first tonight. Anaheim is coming off of two big wins in which the total cashed and they scored a lot. Vancouver has snapped their losing streak and is now riding back-to-back wins into this one and I am sure they want to keep the momentum going so they have a shot of getting back into this season.
