The Boston Bruins finish their Eastern Conference road trip tonight with an intradivisional matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Can Toronto score on Linus Ullmark? Allie O'Neill answers.
ANALYSIS

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Boston Bruins Prediction, Pick, Odds: Can Toronto Score on Linus Ullmark?

The Boston Bruins finish their Eastern Conference road trip tonight with an intradivisional matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins are heading into tonight on a seven-game win streak and a 10-1 record.

On the other hand, the Leafs are a disappointing 5-4-2, but they are 4-1-0 at home. Still, the oddsmakers have favored Toronto at -135. While I predict the Leafs will give the Bruins a run for their money, I don't have enough confidence to fade this Boston team. Instead, I'd prefer to root for a high-scoring game and take the over.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Boston Bruins Prediction

There's no question that Boston's Linus Ullmark has been quite the formidable opponent this season. He's yet to record a loss, granting him an 8-0-0 record and 2.17 GAA. His game against the Penguins earlier this week proved him not to be impenetrable, as he surrendered five goals, relying on the Bruins' offense to pick up the slack.

Meanwhile, Toronto's Ilya Samsonov is 5-2-0 and holds a 2.30 GAA. Samsonov has been even more impressive at home, where he is 4-0 with a 1.97 GAA.

A quick look at these goalies' stats might not suggest an over, but the offensive capabilities of both teams should offset any concerns. The Bruins score an average of 4.45 goals per game, the most of any team in the NHL.

The Leafs average a relatively worse 2.91 goals per game, but this number jumps to 3.20 when playing at home. Despite these goaltenders, I don't see any reason for either team to score fewer than three goals tonight.

There's a chance we'll see both teams revert to a more defense-focused strategy, but the real strength lies in these offenses. Take the over. Bruins at Maple Leafs o6.5 -120
