Edmonton Oilers vs Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction
As I said last night, Edmonton has one of the most prolific offensive units in the league. Anytime Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are on the ice they are deadly and make every player around them better. It's not like they lack talent outside of those two either; Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins are both having a stellar start to their 22/23 campaign, and they have six or seven guys that are just truly lethal on the ice, especially when out there together.
Despite losing the game last night in Washington, they netted four pucks, improving their scoring average, which is now sitting at a 3.85 GPG, second-best in the league. Their GAA got worse, though, after conceding five moving from a 3.51 to a 3.62 GAA. They started the better of their two net minders last night in Stuart Skinner, which is great for us because now we get to fade Jack Campbell, who is having an abysmal start to the season.
They signed him hoping to make him their lead man and solidify some solid play between the pipes, but that just has not been the case. Through eight games this season, he does have a winning 5-3 record (predominantly because the guys in front of him are just outscoring opponents regardless of what he concedes) despite sporting an awful 4.20 GAA and sub .875 save percentage.
I tend to avoid taking totals with Andrei Vasilevskiy for obvious reasons. I have said it before and repeated it recently, but he is one of the game's best and tends to take at least one would-be goal off the board every night. Luckily for us, though, he is facing this lethal Oilers squad who is netting around four goals a game anyways, so assuming we get at least three from Edmonton, it still helps us greatly.

Three of Edmonton's last four have gone over, and Tampa Bay has hit the total in four straight.
When these squads clash, it tends to be a high-scoring affair, and I think the stars are aligning for another one here tonight.
