Panthers vs Blues Prediction

Our first play today is one of the better totals on the slate in my eyes as the St. Louis Blues are in Florida battle with the Panthers. I think this one will be a high-scoring affair with a lot of action on both ends, and with the back-to-back spot for St. Louis, this looks like a perfect storm for us today.

With Thomas Griess between the pipes today for the Blues, this team is even more susceptible to conceding some goals which they normally would if they were playing well. Jordan Binnington has the ability to make some truly game-changing stops when he is on, but Griess doesn't and if the defensive efforts from St. Louis look as poor as they have been at times this season, they could be in trouble today.

This team bounced back hard with the seven-game win streak however they made some piss-poor mistakes last night that lead directly to three easy looks and goals for the Lightning; if they do that again tonight the Panthers will take advantage without a doubt in my mind. The losing streak inflated the average, but St. Louis still sports a 3.44 GAA on the road to this point in the season, and with Griess in net against a potent Florida squad, I do not think that number improves.

The Blues are sporting a 3.41 GPG average across their last ten games and that is with no production for one of the most lethal players in their lineup; Vladimir Tarasenko has been awfully quiet and I know he is looking to get going, especially in a game that winning would keep them from falling below .500 again.

Florida is sporting a 3.22 GAA this season and has conceded at least three goals in four of their last five meetings with the notes. Florida was quiet on home ice to start the year. but has been much better lately and looks a lot more like the team that dominated on home ice all year last season. With Matthew Tkachuk added to the roster this season, he has logged 27 points through 18 games, tied for ninth in the NHL. The Panthers are sporting a really strong 3.66 GPG average on home ice this season and averaging a league-second-best 39.6 SOG per game.

Both of these squads have fallen in favor of the over in regard to totals this season with Florida sporting a record of 12-7-1 and St. Louis countering at 11-7-1 and 7-3 across their last ten games.

Some refer to him as the "King of the Ice" as a result of his dominance in the NHL, which has been his claim to fame. However, he also excels in other markets including the NFL, MLB, and NCAAF.
